East Timor

East Timor is located in Southeast Asia and includes the islands of Jaco, Atauro, Aecusse in addition to the eastern half of Timor. East Timor is mountainous and is known for its coral reef systems and unique plant and animal species on the islands. The former Portuguese colonies have had a strong influence on the cuisine, language and architecture on the island, and East Timorese culture is influenced by Austronesian and Melanesian cultures as well.
